FMG & Eastern Guruma Rail Feasbility and Exploration

This project has involved an archaeological survey of a number of survey areas located south of Fortescue Metals Group Ltd’s Solomon mine complex in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. This work was conducted over 2016-2019 and comprised locating and recording any potential Aboriginal Sites to a detailed standard. The archaeological surveys have resulted in successful outcomes and outstanding performance in health and safety. The project has been conducted with the full assistance and involvement of representatives the Eastern Guruma representatives from Wintawari Guruma Aboriginal Corporation.

 

John Marrell Director & Project Manager
John joined the GJCRM team in November 2009 after completing his honours at the University of WA. John commenced as a Field Archaeologist and was promoted to Field Manager in 2010. In early 2014 John took a position as Project Manager which is his current role at Echoes CHM. John has widespread experience in archaeological surveys and excavations and has managed numerous cultural heritage surveys across a variety of locations in Western Australia including the Pilbara and Goldfields.

John's current responsibilities are planning, executing, and evaluating archaeological heritage surveys for specific projects. John is required to manage project teams and ensure quality control throughout the project life cycle.

John is exceptionally well organised with a pro-active attitude to everything he undertakes. He has good time management, strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal abilities which have contributed to a sound record of reliability and accuracy and has forged strong relationships with our clients and teams.

John is a strong leader and is a member of the ECHM Management Team.
Tegan Raines QC Manager & Senior Report Writer
Tegan completed her Honours in archaeology at the University of Western Australia in 2016 and joined the GJCRM team in 2017 as an assistant report writer. Since then, Tegan has taken on the responsibility of QC Manager for the Echoes CHM Team and works with the report writing team to produce archaeological reports for clients. Tegan looks forward to continuing to maintain the high standards of Echoes Cultural Heritage Management.
Jacob Lambert Field Manager
Jacob has been a member of the GJCRM team since mid-2016 and has taken on the responsibility of managing archaeological heritage surveys in the field. Jacob is currently a Field Manager for Echoes CHM.

Jacob has managed and participated in a number of archaeological surveys as well as salvage and excavation programs throughout Tasmania and Victoria.

During his time at ECHM Jacob has contributed to a number of Aboriginal cultural heritage surveys, managing projects in the Pilbara and Goldfields regions of Western Australia. His role has been to liaise with traditional indigenous landowners and proponent clients as well as identify and recording archaeological material.
