This project involved archaeological surveys of the Rio Tinto Iron Ore Koodaideri Rail Project located approximately 80 km north of Tom Price in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The surveys were conducted over 2012 and 2013 using a site avoidance and site identification recording method. The rail project covered a total length of 74 km and the surveyed areas for the proposed works including a 200 m wide rail corridor, geotechnical investigation areas, trace lines, laydown and access areas, borrow pits and water exploration bore sites. The project was conducted with the full assistance and cooperation of Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi representatives from Juluwarlu Aboriginal Corporation.
