RTIO Bedded Hilltop Survey and Detailed Recording

The Bedded Hilltop project comprised archaeological surveys of several areas around the Hope Downs 4 mine, during March and early April 2015.  The survey areas are located approximately 54 km northwest of Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.  A number of archaeological sites were identified and recorded in detail to a level sufficient to complete the Department of Aboriginal Affairs Heritage Information Submission Forms. The survey was conducted with the assistance of RTIO staff and Nyiyaparli native title claimant representatives on behalf of the Karlka Nyiyaparli Aboriginal Corporation.
