BHP Marillana Detailed Site Recording

In 2018 Gavin Jackson Cultural Resource Management conducted a detailed site verification and recording of fort-eight (48) archaeological sites for BHP within the BHP Marillana Project Area. The sites were recorded with the full cooperation and assistance of the Nyiyaparli and Banjima Native Title claimant groups. The site verification was undertaken over 12 days by a team of 4 GJCRM archeologists and was conducted to the highest health and safety standards

Ian Ryan Director & Project Manager
Dr Ian Ryan has worked full time as an archaeological consultant since 2003 and joined the GJCRM team as a Project Manager and senior archaeologist in 2008. Ian has been the Senior Consultant on more than 250 indigenous archaeological surveys including several excavations and large-scale site salvages in the Pilbara region. Ian has authored and co-authored more than 300 archaeological survey and salvage reports. He has presented and published several research papers based on data collected during archaeological surveys and other cultural resource management projects.

As a Project Manager for Echoes CHM, Ian’s role is to manage, administer and supervise projects for ECHM and to maximise the productivity of field managers and field archaeologists. Ian completes these projects to a high standard and within budget. Ian is also responsible for project life cycle including scope of works and budgets, managing teams in the field and overseeing the resultant survey reports. He also administers ECHM’s ongoing internal seminar series, a training initiative designed to maintain high professional standards and keep staff informed about the status of the heritage industry.
Ian is a strong leader and is a member of the ECHM Management Team.
Tegan Raines QC Manager & Senior Report Writer
Tegan completed her Honours in archaeology at the University of Western Australia in 2016 and joined the GJCRM team in 2017 as an assistant report writer. Since then, Tegan has taken on the responsibility of QC Manager for the Echoes CHM Team and works with the report writing team to produce archaeological reports for clients. Tegan looks forward to continuing to maintain the high standards of Echoes Cultural Heritage Management.
