RTIO Greater Paraburdoo

This project consisted of ongoing archaeological surveys from 2014-2016 for Rio Tinto Iron Ore .  The project areas were located in and around Paraburdoo in Western Australia. A number of archaeological sites were identified and recorded to an avoidance level for site management purposes and in detail to a level sufficient to complete the Department of Aboriginal Affairs Heritage Information Submission Forms. A systematic archaeological salvage of one heritage site was conducted as well as re-recording a  number of previously recorded sites .  The survey involved the full participation and involvement of the Yinhawangka native title claimant group.
