“Yinhawangka People Celebrate 50,000 Years of Life in Pilbara Thanks to New Evidence”

Archaeological findings from excavations at a sacred site in the Eastern Pilbara has affirmed the presence of Yinhawangka people in the area for over 50,000 years. The fascinating study has been over two decades in the making and has become a breakthrough discovery of both National and International significance.

The project, led by Yinhawangka Aboriginal Corporation in collaboration with WA heritage consultants has offered a new and exciting insight into the occupation of Aboriginal groups across the arid region.
