Wattle Plants in Martu Country

Incredibly exciting new study being conducted by PhD candidate Chae Byrne from the university of Western Australia. The project, conducted on Martu country uses archaeobotany to examine the remains of Wattle plants in charcoal recovered from Rockshelters in Karnatukul. 

The study aims to contribute to the importance of the Wattle plant being of multipurpose use including: firewood, food and medicines, throughout the last 50,000 years.
